Aggregation enables the parent asset to be automatically updated with the child asset’s activities and metadata. Activity aggregation only adds activities and always flows upwards in a hierarchy. Metadata aggregation always flows upwards and displays all changes made lower in the hierarchy.
When a child asset is assigned to a parent asset, the child asset’s activities and attribute values are automatically added to the parent asset.
When a child asset is moved, the attribute values are removed from the parent asset attribute total. The child asset activities will remain activated for the parent asset.
When a child asset’s activities or attributes are updated, the parent asset is automatically updated to include the new activities or the attributes.
